About Louie ~ Boxer x Cattle Dog (On trial 29/4/17)
Meet Louie, an 18 month old Boxer x Cattle; a most remarkable dog. Since leaving the pound, Louie has done nothing but amaze everyone with the progress he is making.
Louie is a polite little boy with a gorgeous and loving nature. After a bit of a rough start, Louie has a brand new lease on life and is enjoying every minute of it. Considering his background, Louie is very responsive and well behaved.
Being very food motivated, Louie is proving to be quite easy to train. He already knows his name and the word, ‘Come’ and sits for food and treats. Louie's toilet training is now complete and his nervous and excited energy is also improving. Louie walks well on a lead and loves his daily walks.
Since leaving the pound, Louie has had a busy and full life – from agility training to a weekend doing meet and greets at a local winery; Louie will never look back. He is also busy learning lots of new tricks and commands. Getting along with other dogs and cats is not an issue for him. Louie’s carer thinks he would be good with children but he hasn’t met any except on his walks. However, being excitable, Louie would have to work on his jumping habit.
With his smooth coat that can easily be cared for with just a bath and the occasional brushing, Louie is very low maintenance. Louie would be happy as an only dog given plenty of love, attention and exercise, but wouldn’t mind sharing the love with other dogs in the home.
If you feel you can provide this deserving dog a loving, permanent home, please contact Nora on 0418 402 150 or email dogrescuemudgee@gmail.com. Louie is in foster care in Mudgee, NSW.
Louie is de-sexed, vaccinated, free of fleas and worms and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
