About Fitz ~ Female ~ Kelpie (on trial 21/05/17)
Meet Fitz! Fitz got her name from the lovely jazz singer, Ella Fitzgerald. Fitz is an 11 month old Kelpie who is a very snugly girl and likes nothing better than to be close to you.
Like all working dog breeds, Fitz is very smart and a quick learner. When she first came into care her manners needed work, but she is coming along in leaps and bounds. For someone who is willing to keep working with her, she will be a rather intelligent and well behaved dog.
Like most working breeds, she is very active and requires a lot of stimulation and regular activity. She loves to play with her current foster sister who is also a Kelpie X and 2 Staffy X foster brothers. Her perfect home would be one where there is another dog for Fitz to play with and to keep her company.
Fitz needs a large secure yard to play in. While she has shown no signs of being an escape artist, she is capable of jumping high without any trouble. High and secure fencing would be needed, just as a security measure.
FItz will happily chase a ball, although getting her to give you the ball back to throw again is a challenge that her foster family are working on.
Fitz has been ok with the teenagers she shares her foster home with, but she can be very bouncy and boisterous during play time. Supervision would be recommended if she was playing around younger children, just to ensure no one gets knocked over. During quiet time, Fitz is happy to sit quietly on her doggy bed.
Fitz is a good girl who sleeps inside on her doggy bed during the night. She does go outside when her foster family need to leave the house, but she is allowed inside regularly when people are home.
Fitz's adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. Fitz is being cared for in Singleton, NSW 2330.
If you are looking for a companion for your furry family member and think you might be perfect for Fitz, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire and get in contact with her foster mum Darlene 0438346668 (text preferred) or email stepbowpet@hotmail.com.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
