Dobby ~ Kelpie x ~ Puppy (on trial 30/04/17)

Look into my eyes… my lovely green eyes! Dobby is a desexed male kelpie x, 4.5 month old pup and sure is a gorgeous ball of energy, looking for his perfect home! Being of ‘working dog’ breed, Dobby will need a family that can provide lots of exercise and interaction to keep his active body and smart mind stimulated. A family who can include him in their daily activities and as a member of the tribe is of utmost importance.

While he does have so much energy to burn, he also has a huge heart and is a very sweet boy, who likes his cuddles and snuggles! He may be a little shy but enjoys people very much and likes to know what you're up to. He has a beautiful soft coat which makes the cuddles all the more loving! Crossed with perhaps a collie or shepherd, his coat is generally low maintenance with some shedding.

Dobby would probably be best with older children as he could be a bit too much for young children with licking and knocking over, however this is due to him being a puppy; he has never shown aggression. He loves to play with other friendly dogs, especially rough housing and would benefit from lots of positive doggy encounters or ideally a fur sister or brother.

Dobby is still a puppy and as such displays all the usual puppy exuberance and traits you'd expect. He will need ongoing training. These types of dogs are super smart and Dobby will respond really quickly to positive reinforcement training and a strong leader. At such a young age he hasn't picked up many bad habits, although he is learning that keeping all four paws on the ground gets more positive results. He is great at sitting and working on other obedience commands.

Dobbs is a happy boy outside and is learning his inside manners. He would make a good guard dog, alerting you to strange noises but is not a nuisance barker; just learning about his environment.
