Harmony would suit being a single dog or homes with other dogs. She needs someone who will give her some gentle exercise and play ball. Someone who has the patience and time to work through her anxiety issues. Someone gentle who wants a loyal dog to keep them company. She is happiest laying at your feet.
Harmony is still hand shy but is beginning to allow some short petting time. She is easy to groom and will sit or stand when brushing. She is on the small side for a shepherd. She was very underweight when she came into care and slightly under at the last vet visit. She appears to have gained weight but this needs to be worked on. She is very food treat orientated and this has been used to help distract her when her anxiety is high. She has a beautiful gentle nature and just needs someone who is patient enough to keep working on her issues so she feels safe and calm all the time.
Harmony will become vocal when meeting other dogs. She barked and jumped around when she first met my dog but she settled quickly once inside. I did a meet and greet with the two dogs on the footpath where Harmony showed quite excited behaviour which became vocal. I walked Harmony into the house first and let her explore then I allowed my dog in. The dogs were both settled and sniffed and i have not had any problems between them.
She loves new people and enjoys meeting them. She will however be vocal for the first minute or so. This is becoming less apparent as the treat distraction is used. She does not jump at people at all.
