About Irene
Sweet girl Irene is looking for her special home!
Irene came to us very timid and unsure of what life was all about. She is slowly making progress but we believe the next important step for her is to find her new family so she can settle and start her new life.
Irene has already had a few changes in her 10 months so we want her next one to be her last. She can be a little unsure of new people which is expected but after she has had some time to get to know you and bond with her new family you will have a very loving and loyal companion
Irene is very bouncy and energetic and then happy to curl up on her bed for a nap. She is a sweet girl who gets along well with other dogs and loves their company. She enjoys her playtime with them and turns to her canine friends for reassurance when she isn't sure about what is going on around her. For this reason, only a home with a desexed MALE dog will be considered. She will be looking for a new doggy friend who is similar in size and will have lots of energy to keep up with her.
Irene has missed out on a lot of socialisation and will appreciate slow introductions to new people and surroundings.
Obedience training will be a great benefit to Irene and will help her create a trusting bond with her new family to help her overcome her insecurities.
Regular walks will be a great way for Irene to be exposed to the world in a calm and relaxed manner. She enjoys seeing new sights and is starting to relax when taking drives in the car with her foster mum. She can be a little nervous about what is ahead of her as car drives in the past have meant she is relocating again. It may take her a bit of time to realise she is home and her people will always take her back home with them.
Considering she can be a little nervous, Irene will be looking for a home with older children who understand that dogs need to be given her space and time to settle with no expectations from them.
Irene is currently living an indoor/outdoor lifestyle which she would also love to have in her new home. She is still learning to go outside when she needs to. This is something that will need to continue with her new family to help her understand.
She is going to be a big girl and will require a good sized yard where she will have plenty of room to stretch her long legs.
If you have read Irene's profile and believe you are the special family she has been waiting for, we look forward to hearing from you
**Irene has grown a bit since these photos were taken and we are in the process of taking more recent ones. They will be added shortly
Irene is currently in Emerald, VIC
Medical notes
Irene has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. She has also received regular flea and worm treatment while she has been in our care
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
