Meet Dozer the 30kg black Labrador.
This 9yr old thinks he's still a puppy. He's a very playful boy who loves company. Never destructive, never digs or chews on things he shouldn't but boy can he chew on a bone & he loves doing that more than anything. He's a true lab & is obsessed with food, loves carrying items in his mouth & loves a good belly rub.
Dozer is not bothered by rain or storms & has been an outside dog his whole life. Hopefully in his new home that will change as he loves being inside & always heads for the lounge. He has never soiled when in the house. Dozer walks well on lead, can pull a bit at first as he gets excited but quickly settles.
Dozer is great with my children & any children visiting our home. He is ok with our cats, mostly paying them no attention unless they run, then it's a game & he wants to chase them. I don't think he would hurt them intentionally but he's a big heavy boy & is a little to much for them. He could be desensitized I'm sure if you gave him the time & patience.
This boofa is great with other dogs, he likes to say hello to every canine (& human) he sees. He is non reactive to the dogs living next door, even when they bark. He's not one to bark when someone knocks at the door, however he does bark, or talk to us for attention & when he's excited. He doesn't respond to commands to stop. This will need work. He does settle after maybe 5-10mins. He has learnt "wait" when it's meal time, he sometimes moves to the bowl too quickly but generally is good. He's also learning "gentle" when taking food from your hand.
Dozer had several large nodules/skin tags when he came into care. These have been checked & removed. He will have his stitches out soon & be available for adoption at the end of March.
All animals adopted from CnP Rescue come microchipped, desexed, C3 vaccinated, flea/worm treated. Dozer is also council registered.
