About Spike
Spike is looking for a foster home with potential to be his forever home.
Please say hello to this friendly little chap who loves his pats and belly rubs. He is happy to curl up with you on your bed or on the sofa but can not jump that high himself so will ask to be picked up so he can be close for snuggles.
Spike has been with us for a couple of months now. We noticed he had a slight limp so he was taken to the vet for assessment where we were told he has a possible tear in the ligament in his leg. It has been closely monitored and the vet has informed us it seems to be improving but may require surgery in the future. At the moment he is on anti-inflammatories and will be for a few more weeks, At the moment he is comfortable and the limp is now gone.
If it does come back in the future we are prepared to cover the costs involved for the surgery he may require. He is still carrying a bit of extra weight due to be very loved in his previous home. His carer has been working on this. It has been a little challenging due to his leg injury so he is also on a special weight control diet due to help him lose those extra kilos.
Spike is quite a social boy and gets excited when he sees his foster carer reach for his lead. He will bounce around with all 4 feet off the ground until he is clipped on and ready to head out the door. He barks every now and then. Walk time is one of those times due to the fact he gets so excited. He is normally quiet but can sometimes join in with the other dogs in his foster home.
He is currently in care with other small dogs and he has no issue with being in their company but isn't overly social with them. He would be happy in a home with another small, friendly desexed dog or in a home where his people will be home to spend lots of time with him to avoid him getting lonely.
Spike will chase cats so he will be looking for a home where there will be NO feline friends
Spike has been raised in a home with no young children so we will be looking for this in his new home. He was living a quiet lifestyle and is not used to lots of noise. We would prefer a home for him where he would only be around children/grandchildren 10 years+ that have been raised around dogs and understand that every dog's personal space should be respected.
In his current foster home Spike spends most of his time indoors and has a snuggly bed in the lounge. He loves to curl up and have his naps throughout the day. He would love to find a home where he will be welcome to spend lots of time indoors where he can be close to his family to help him settle in and feel very important. He is toilet trained and will ask to go out when he needs to
If you would like to offer Spike his fantastic future please contact us and we will be in touch shortly.
Spike is currently in Clematis, VIC

Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
