About Aswan
Handsome and affectionate Aswan is a sleek little panther who loves to run, climb and play. He is super smoochy with a huge purr and he will make a wonderful snuggly companion. Aswan has lots of energy but loves to chill out with his family once he has worn himself out.
He is the perfect age - still small and ready to fit into a family, but fully litter trained and with a bit more self-control than a tiny kitten! Aswan has been around other cats and dogs so he would settle well into a home with existing pets, but could also adapt to being the only one. He hasn't been around kids but with his easy-going personality, he should quickly adjust to little people.
If this little guy is what has been missing from your life, get in touch today! He is located in foster care in Northam, but a meeting can be arranged closer to Perth.
Medical notes
Little Aswan didn't get a very good start in life. His mum was very young and was abandoned during her pregnancy. She is a VERY affectionate, people-oriented cat and was traumatised by the abandonment of her family as she had never had to survive on her own. When she was picked up by the rangers she was 2 weeks away from having her kittens; she looked like a skeleton that had swallowed a basketball! She loved her kittens and doted on them and it was to her credit that all 6 survived. However the kittens were very sick early in life with cat flu.
Aswan has made an excellent recovery from his early illness. He is a small-built cat and is likely to always be fairly petite. He may be more prone to upper-respiratory illness in the future, though it is worth noting that 80% of cats in the general population carry the cat flu virus so he has good company!
We are very keen to see Aswan in a loving home and we know there is someone out there who will see past his troubled early life and take him on. If you have further questions about his health, please don't hesitate to ask!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
