About Bella ~ 3.5yo Border Collie x (On Trial 17/6/17)
Bella is a sweet-natured 3.5-year-old female Border Collie x Cattle Dog.
She is a beautiful girl inside and out, who loves to play and go on walks. Bella hasn’t had the best past and due to this she is wary of meeting new people, especially men. Her confidence has been affected and she needs someone to be patient, kind, and willing to give her the time to help her build her trust in people. Once she knows you, her favourite things will be pats, hugs, licking you and getting scratches from you.
Bella absolutely loves her daily walks and after only a week, has learned to walk very well on a lead. She gets excited every time she see’s her Halti, and knows it’s walk time. She is learning very quickly, not to pull or tug, and to wait and sit at roads. Bella loves to play fetch, and will happily entertain herself in the yard if there are toys to play with. She loves the water and loves to swim. Bella has lots of energy, and would love a big back yard in her forever home. She won’t mind if you are not an at-home-all-day kind of family, if she can have extra walks.
Bella hasn’t had much formal training, but has shown herself to be fully toilet trained so far, and has used pee pads in the past. She is quickly learning sit, down, wait, fetch, go, come, and mine (drop). Bella slept inside in her previous home, but is equally happy to sleep outside as long as she is undercover, in her kennel.
When inside, she likes to be where you are, and enjoys a quiet spot to rest. When outside, she loves to lay on her bed in the sun, play with her toys, and run around her yard.
Bella wasn’t socialized as a puppy, and because of this she has some trouble meeting other dogs. She would prefer to be an only dog, and would benefit from ongoing training and slow socialization. Bella would suit a dog loving person, couple, or family with older children, without cats or pocket pets, who will take the time to help her reach her full potential.
Bella needs some time to adjust to her new environment. While Bella has been with us, she has come along in leaps and bounds and we know with the right family, she will be the dog she is meant to be.
For more information or to meet Bella, please contact Sharron on 0423 331 057 or email sstudley3@bigpond.com. Bella is in foster care in Wallsend, NSW (Newcastle area) and is available for adoption interstate.
Bella's adoption fee is $400 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
