Rufus (ED0103)

Rufus is a delight, he's an affectionate, outgoing boy who is eager to please and loves to play!

Rufus is currently in foster care with 2 other dogs and loves to have a long play with them then snuggle up when they're all worn out, so he would love to be in a home with another dog to keep him company. He would be friendly towards confident cats after gentle introduction and has met horses, although he was kept on a lead for this.
Rufus has also met children and he was fine, but he can jump up at times so would need some gentle training to overcome this.
Rufus is housetrained and walks well on the lead, although he tends to walk a bit better when he has another dog for company.
He is a very active dog with a high energy level so needs a very active home with people who will include him in their lives and provide him with the exercise he needs. He loves to walk on the beach and meet other dogs for playtime. Once he's had his daily run, he's happy to nap on the couch with humans or animals but he will chew if he's bored and hasn't been exercised.
Rufus has responded well to command training and now knows quite a few commands. He is eager to please so any training would prove to be pretty successful quite quickly.
He loves to play fetch, and has a hedgehog teddy that he just loves to snuggle and play with.
The ideal home for Rufus will have secure fencing and a large yard for him to run around. He needs an active family who will treat him like another family member, and will allow him to sleep inside at night.
