About Miley ~ Labrador ~ 7 years (On Trial 24/3/17
Meet Miley, Smiley Miley!
Miley is a 7 year old labrador and is a real sweetheart. Miley is entering her twilight years and would love a home where she can happily and comfortably just be. She is a great companion dog and wants to be with you wherever you are. She is great with children and is not a barker, digger or escape artist.
She gets on well with other dogs, but isn’t really into playing as she prefers to hang with her humans. If she were to join a family with another dog, Miley would be best suited to the company of older dogs with gentle natures, just like her. Miley would be fine as an only dog.
Miley enjoys a leisurely walk, but isn’t overly active. She walks ok on a harness and lead, and is great off lead too. She never runs off, only stopping to sniff and always comes when she is called. She travels well in the car, but needs encouraging (or a lift) to get in. A 4WD is hard for her to get in on her own, but a sedan/lower car would be fine for her to hop into.
Like most labs, Miley loves food, scoffing it quickly and still wanting more. Spreading her meals out across the day in small portions or investing in a food bowl that slows down eating would be recommended.
Miley’s happy place is being inside with you, so it would be ideal if her new family would allow her to be indoors as much as possible. She is house trained and is very clean and well behaved.
Whilst Miley is an easy dog to look after and has a beautiful nature that would suit a variety of families, she does deserve a special type of home. Miley is looking for a home with someone who is there more often than not. If she has to be outside while you're out, Miley doesn’t fret and she’ll wait patiently on her bed for you to get home.
Miley is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. Her adoption fee is $350.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
