About Brinny
This great little dog has a sunny and loving nature. He is a cute, chunky, energetic puppy who loves to chase toys (still needing some encouragement to relinquish them!). He also loves a tug game with his doggy mates.
Brinny loves playing in the garden, and checking out what's going on, and is happy outside when no one's home. He is doing really well with his lessons too. He knows his name, comes when he is called, and is good with the "leave it" command . He walks nicely on the lead and is fully house trained. He is excellent off lead too, not wandering too far and coming back promptly when he is called.
Brinny is well behaved inside, and has a lovely companionable presence, loving to cuddle up with his human for a kip.
He will make a wonderful pet in an environment where he gets lots of cuddles, pats, and encouragement, and someone who has the time and energy to build a bond with him and consolidate his lessons. He is a loyal little boy and such a bright spark, he will learn everything really quickly. He is really an attentive boy and just wants to please and do the right thing.
He does need a good walk every day (preferably with some off lead time) as he is a active dog, mentally and physically, but overall has a moderate exercise need.
Brinny came to us for rehoming when his family left town and left him behind. He was in foster care in Tennant Creek for a short while but is now fostered in a home environment in Elliott. This gorgeous little guy is going to be on the smaller side of medium with a strong, stocky build. He stands 18 inches at the shoulder and weighs 14 kg, and we don't think he will grow much more. He would make a great companion for another friendly playful dog. He is also great with kids and would fit into a family environment well.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Brinny's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide.
Medical notes
Brinny is fit and well, and ready to go. He will be wormed and heartworm treated again just before leaving the Territory. He should be dewormed fortnightly for a month and have 1 further heartworm treatment after he arrives down south.
