About Humphrey *On Trial in His New Home*
*HUMPHREY IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Humphrey B Bear is ready to meet his new family! He would love a home where he’s allowed inside and would benefit from a canine companion if you’re away for much of the day. Humphrey is a friendly, outgoing boy who just wants to be part of a family no matter how big or small.
“Bear” as he’s affectionately known was surrendered to us for rehousing as he was way too rough for his owners tiny Chihuahua (he probably thought it was a chew toy!), so if he’s to live with another dog it needs to be a medium to large, playful one like the adult Rotti he’s currently in care with! They play hard though when the Rotti lets Bear know “that’s enough” he listens and tones it down knowing who the boss in that backyard is!
Described as a confident and affectionate pup Bear’s not at all licky or in your face; he is a “velcro” pup who loves being with his humans and doesn’t stray far when off lead outside the yard…..and if he does he has terrific recall. Speaking of which Bear is proving he’s an intelligent pup as he’s already picked up toilet-training, knows “sit”, “wait” and rarely jumps up and is terrific on a lead enjoying his daily walk. Bear loves treats (which he takes gently), so this should help with any further training as he’s keen to learn and please his humans.
This adorable pup likes playing with toys especially those with squeakers and he LOVES water, so a doggie pool is a must in the warmer weather. Bear’s quite good around children though dog savvy, older kids would be best as he may accidentally bowl the littlies over when he’s excited. The only home we’d steer clear of would be one with pocket pets such as cats, birds, guinea pigs as he does get a little obsessed.
As Bear is toilet-trained he would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle in a home with secure fencing, bones to chew on and lots of cuddles.
Medical notes
Bear is desexed, microchipped, C3 vaccinated and wormed.
DOB: 9/10/16.
Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
