About Toby
Please say hello to Toby.
Toby is a lovely little boy who is very friendly and happy after he has been allowed some time to settle.
He does take a few minutes to warm to new people but once he's had a chance to relax he is happy to trot around behind his family to be a part of their day to day activities. He loves company.
Toby will be looking for a home with someone who is experienced in certain doggy behaviours. He is known to guard his food and toys. His carer is currently working with him but he will need ongoing training and guidance in his new home. This is possibly something that has never been corrected so he doesn't understand it is not appropriate behaviour.
While he has been in care Toby has enjoyed the companionship of the other small dogs in the home. They have all been getting along very well. He enjoys his runs around the yard and daily walks. Toby will best suit a home with another calm, desexed small dog. He would not mind being on his own providing he will have lots of company throughout the day. Considering all his recent changes he will find it hard to be left on his own all day while his family are out
Toby has been tested with cats and has shown a very high interest so he will be looking for a home with no cats or other small animals
Toby is toilet trained but may need the occasional reminder in his new home. He is calm when he is indoors and currently has the opportunity to sleep indoors where he feels safe and secure. We would like this to continue for him when he heads to his new family
Toby has come to us from a very hectic household where there wasn't much time for him to fully learn his manners. He still needs to understand there are boundaries when he is inside.
He is used to the hustle and bustle of noise and a lot going on but from what we have seen he settles better in a relaxed and calm environment.
A home with no young children will be best for Toby to help him settle in. He has had some rough treatment from children in the past and can be quite nervous in their company so a home with older children will be the best option for him.

If you would like to offer Toby his happy new lifestyle we look forward to hearing from you shortly
Toby is currently in Emerald, VIC
Medical notes
Toby has been desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
