About Blaze ~ 5yo greyhound boy (On Trial 14/6/17)
Blaze is a true gentleman - if he could, he would open the door for you. He is a calm and confidant dog with impeccable manners.
At 5yrs old, Blaze doesn't feel the need to romp around the house, and no need to be rough or pushy with the family. It's also who he is; everything he does he does it with a steady calmness. He has been a dream to foster.
Blaze does have his funny side too. He loves a zoom around the backyard - you can see his happiness. He loves playing with his toys and gently flipping them around.
He loves his food but he isn't a guts. If fact he likes trying new foods. His eyes will get really wide and bright. I have to admit that I do give him new foods just to see those eyes.
You will enjoy walking him too as he just glides along beside you.
My favourite Blaze quirk is his lip chuffing, teeth chattering whenever he is happy. He is in his happy place when snuggling with you and getting a neck massage his lip chuffing, teeth chattering. The noises are similar to a cat purring.

Currently Blaze lives with 5 other dogs including 4 greyhounds and another mixed breed dog. Blaze enjoys having a game of chase with the other dogs, but he would also make a suitable only dog.
Greyhounds are extremely lazy, preferring to snooze the day away on the lounge. A 15-20 minute walk per day will make Blaze extremely happy and contented. If in a rush, a 10 minute walk and sniff will keep him happy. Greyhounds are a little different from your average dog, so reading up about greyhounds is advised and appreciated.
The perfect home for Blaze would be a somewhat calm environment with a family that would make him a part of their family. He needs a home without cats as he is not cat friendly.
For more information or to meet Blaze, please contact his foster carer Misty on 0434 373 422 or email mistyem@tpg.com.au. Blaze is in foster care in Wallsend, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Blaze's adoption fee is only $200 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. Blaze's new family will also be provided with a martingale collar, muzzle, warm coat and ongoing support if needed. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
