About Clancy
Clancy is a very popular boy with all who meet him. Even on his first day out of the shelter, he went straight to the vet and all he wanted to do was roll around on the examination table and demand tummy rubs and pats. He is a special boy with such a happy nature. Although he is almost completely deaf, he does not let this slow him down at all.
Clancy lives in a foster home with several other dogs and gets along very well with them. He does tend to chase the cats so it may be best he goes to a home without other felines, however with training this issue could be overcome. He never shows aggression, it is just play. There are also pet birds in his foster home and he shows no interest in these at all.
Due to his tiny size, we would recommend Clancy does not go to a home with small children. This is no fault of his, he is just small and delicate.
Clancy is a real snuggle bug and likes to cuddle in close beside you with his head resting on you. We got him a gorgeous soft snuggle sack to sleep in as theres nothing he loves more then being snuggled deep under the blankets. He follows his foster mum everywhere and although he doesn't show any signs of separation anxiety, we'd really love for Clancy to be adopted to a home where he had lots of company and attention.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Clancy has had a major dental surgery whilst in care and has recovered well. He has low grade luxating patellas and some arthritic changes.
