Sunny Puss 🦁 Friendly Ginger Cat

My name is Sunny Puss. I'm just less than two years old. I'm a desexed male ginger Puss. I'm about 4.3kg.

I had a rough start to life. My Mummy had a good home with her humans until she got pregnant. They let her have my brother and Me and looked after us for a little while. But when we were about six months old we were dumped.

Mummy tried her best but she was killed by a car leaving my brother and Me to fend for ourselves. It was hard being a street cat. We had to fight for food and shelter. I wasn't very good at it. As a result I have had an injury to my left eye. The eyelid fused to the eyeball. I can see ok but sometimes it's hard on my left side and I get scared when I'm surprised. I'm also a little bit deaf on the left side.

My brother and I met a nice lady. She put food, water and milk out for us. It was good food too. She tried to get us to come in but we were afraid. Then one day I hurt my leg. The nice lady tried to catch me but I'm small and slippery and I got away. A couple of days later she trapped me. She knew I'd come for the food in the trap as it's so hard on the streets.

I was terrified. But I didn't lash out at her. I didn't hiss or scream. I just meowed and meowed and meowed. She took me inside for the cold night and put me in a warm bathroom with food and water and a kitty litter. The next day I was taken to a vet who cleaned up all my war wounds, desexed me, microchipped and vaccinated me. It was a very scary and exhausting 24 hours.

I was so scared I spent a month hiding behind the human toilet. The nice lady bought me a cat igloo which was warm and comfy and safe. I then discovered I could hide under a sideboard so she put a warm soft blanket there for me. Then I discovered that under the bed was a grand place to be. The nice lady bought me a day bed and I spent a month under there.

I would sneak out at night when everyone was asleep as she had put toys out! I LOVE playing with toys, especially balls and mice with catnip. It's great. So much fun chasing the balls and even better when my human plays with me.

After three months of hiding and recovering and all the TLC all my wounds healed and my fur grew back. I decided to come out. At first I was scared of these humans but they were kind to me. The food is good, the water fresh and clean. I like these humans. I like to sit with them at night and watch TV with them. I love being brushed and patted. I push my little head into human hands so I can be patted and stroked and I purr and purr and PURR and then purr some more.

But the problem is the other two cats. They don't like me. They hiss at me. They growl at me. They just won't be friends. I just want to be friends and play and purr.

Unfortunately because I was on the streets I was bitten badly and I have FIV. This isn't as bad as it sounds. But it means I must be an indoor cat and my vaccinations must be kept up to date as if I get sick it will take a bit longer for me to get better.

I could share my human with another cat or dog but the introduction would need to be slow and carefully controlled because I can be nervous! Mostly I want to be patted and brushed, to watch TV with my human, to help my human when they are working and to sleep next to my human. I just want someone to love and to love me.
