About Hildy ~ Labrador x Kelpie (On Trial l9/3/17)
Hildy is a beautifully gentle 2-year-old Labrador x Kelpie , who is very affectionate and adores spending time with people.
Hildy has a beautiful red Kelpie coat and big brown eyes, but don’t let her muscly physique and large size fool you! Hildy is such a sweet and caring old soul who loves showing affection with loads of kisses. She never jumps and often likes to shake her paw as a sign of friendship. She is a big softy who genuinely enjoys human companionship and is dreaming of a forever home that will love her as much as she’ll love them.
Hildy is currently an outside dog during the day and sleeps inside at night. She’s more than happy to be outside in her own company and feels extra special when chewing on her favourite raw bone or spending those hot Summer days in her very own paddle pool. She never frets about being outside all day, but would love a human companion to fill some of her time.
Hildy has been well socialized with other dogs and cats and quite enjoys their company. Her favourite thing to do is rest her head on you or get a big belly rub. She absolutely loves cuddling with her little elephant toy too! Hildy is very well behaved and has almost mastered the basic commands of ‘sit’ and ‘drop’. She travels extremely well in the car, happy to rest quietly in the back. She never barks or whines and walks well on a lead, but can get a little frightened of the cars that drive by. She comes when her name is called, but can’t be trusted to stay close when off the lead.
Hildy is wonderful with children, especially those that give her plenty of pats and cuddles. Due to her larger size, she would be well suited to children over 5 years old, as she could knock over the little ones unintentionally. As she is people orientated, she will need a home that gives her plenty of attention.
Hildy’s forever home will require a large yard with secure fencing (minimum 6ft) and adequate shelter. She would be an ideal companion for an active family, couple or individual that is willing to make her a super special part of the family and give her the loving home that she so very much deserves.
For more information or to meet Hildy, please contact her foster carer Elke on 0431 304 614 or email elke.lanzon@gmail.com. Hildy is in foster care in Singleton, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Hildy's adoption fee is $450 andshe is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
