About Frankie ~ female Terrier x (on trial 19/3/17)
Introducing Frankie! A loveable 2- year old Terrier X. Frankie was rescued from Dubbo pound and is now in Newcastle looking for her forever home.
Frankie is a sweet natured dog who adores people and will give you kisses all day. She is a happy and an excitable girl, but she will drop everything if she thinks she can get a cuddle or a belly rub.
Frankie adores her foster parents and can’t get enough of their company. She is, however, happy to spend time inside or outside and shows no signs of separation issues. Frankie is currently in foster care with 2 other dogs of different breeds and age. She lives happily with them, playing with her Kelpie X foster sister and snuggling with her Dachshund X foster sister. Because of her over enthusiasm for humans and boisterous nature, she will need to join a family with adults or older children. She would suit an active couple, family or single person lifestyle.
Frankie is house trained and sleeps inside of a night, away from bedrooms on her own bed. Occasionally when Frankie is over-excited or scared, she can dribble a small amount of wee on the floor. This could be due to her being a mother in the past and is not a major issue, but her forever family will need to continue her training in teaching her how to be calm and introduce new people to her in an appropriate manner.
Frankie’s energy needs are moderate. Frankie will enjoy having walking regularly and needs lots of toys on hand or another dog to play with during the day. She will settle down of an evening and lie in her bed or have cuddles on the lounge if she is allowed. Frankie loves being chased around the yard. The inner puppy is still alive within Frankie when she is excited, but she is learning and growing out of chewing and jumping. She loves her soft plush toys along with her chew sticks.
Frankie has not been exposed to cats or other pets in her foster home so we cannot be sure of how she will behave around them.
Frankie knows how to sit and drop, and is currently learning to roll, come and wait. She has nearly mastered learning that she has to be polite for her meals or when she greets her humans, and will sit attentively for your next move. Frankie will need to be adopted by someone who is willing to continue her obedience training and maintain rules and routines. She absolutely loves to learn and will thrive in a home that will continue to teach her. She will also need more training walking on a lead. So far she is very calm and doesn’t pull on her lead when she walks with her foster sisters. She really enjoys her food and is very responsive to food rewards as well as positive attention.
Frankie is a beautiful soul, full of love. She has a massive heart and smile, and her new family will just adore her!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
