On Hold
About Phoebe ~ Shih Tzu x ~ senior girl (On medical hold
Phoebe is a 10yo Shih Tzu x (possibly with Cavalier King Charles Spaniel). She is a sweet, friendly and very affectionate little girl that loves life and people.
Phoebe is very good around children and other dogs. She is very healthy and has lots of years ahead of her. She will bring many cuddles and so much happiness into your home.
Phoebe hasn't had much exercise over the past few months due to her previous owner's poor health. This unfortunately led to Phoebe being surrendered. Phoebe is a little chubby at the moment but she is quite keen to get out and about again and she will soon lose that extra weight.
Phoebe has a beautiful, low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful.
Phoebe loves the beach and going for walks. She is fully housetrained and loves to cuddle up. She does not climb on the furniture and is quite content to lie on her bed but her favourite spot in this hot weather is the bathroom floor. She is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside.
Phoebe adapts very quickly to her surroundings and people so she would suit many different homes so long as there were no small children (simply because they might not be gentle with her). To meet her is to love her, and she will love you too.
If you are interested in adopting/meeting Phoebe please contact her foster mum Diane on 0425 200 721 or email dicampbell1@optusnet.com.au. Phoebe is in foster care in Salamander Bay NSW (Port Stephens, north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Phoebe's adoption fee is $100 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for heartworm, fleas and worms, microchipped, lifetime registered and has had a full veterinary check.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
