About Oscar ~ Maltese x terrier ~ (on trial 7/3/17)
Meet Oscar. This lovely dude is only 17 months old. He is a small Maltese X terrier with a creamy white coat and champagne coloured ears. He is great on the lead and loves going for walks. He enjoys playing with soft toys and likes to play with humans too, grabbing my hand in play, which might not be suitable for young children. He hasn't been tested with cats or pockets pets.
Oscar is a work in progress. He has mastered my doggy door and I'm housetraining him. He is living with my two docile Labradors and very much enjoying their company. He has started to feel safe when being handled. He coped reasonably well when he was groomed.
Oscar is your readymade door bell so you will always know when visitors have arrived. He barks at my cows but that is understandable as they are such strange creatures to him.
Oscar is a healthy young boy with no health issues or allergies. He needs regular grooming and bathing for his fine silky coat.
Oscar is hoping for a patient and caring person(s) to carry on this training and be his best friend. He will reward his new family with all of the love and loyalty that he has to give. He needs a home where he is living and sleeping inside with his family, happily sleeping in his own bed or sharing yours.
This beautiful boy is no Oscar the grouch, just add love, training and security and he will be Oscar-riffic and totally devoted to you. Can you see Oscar in your life ?
For more information or to meet Oscar, please contact his foster carer Anne on 0428 741 398 or email anne4drn@gmail.com. Oscar is in foster care in Singleton, NSW (west of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Oscar's adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
