Zeena ~ blue heeler x kelpie ~ (on trial 10/03/17)

Zeena is a 5 month old, female, blue heeler x kelpie puppy whose affectionate nature is sure to win you over! Looking for a companion you say? Well look no further than Zeena as she loves to be where you are, whatever you are doing. She’s a loyal girl and always comes when called.

Zeena is a medium sized dog, bright, healthy and alert. She is a water baby who loves her walks, games and laying about at your feet. She enjoys human affection very much. She will follow you around the house or yard, curious about what you are doing but more than anything just wants to be near you.

Zeena is fantastic with young children too and doesn’t jump up or knock them over. She loves to play with other friendly dogs as long as they are not too pushy as she can be a bit submissive. She hasn’t had alot of experience with cats and seems a little too interested with the one she has been living with but as long as each has their own space it shouldn’t be an issue.

Zeena has mastered "sit" and will politely sit every time she is asked. This is extremely good trait to have and makes things like attaching leads so easy. She always comes when called and will come to a click of the fingers or kissing sounds.

As Zeena is still a pup, she likes to lick and can get a bit overexcited at greetings with her youthful exuberance just getting the better of her at times. She can be a bit nervous with an overwhelming need to please. This is not a fearful dog however, and she adapts well to her surroundings. She will calm down as she gains more confidence and learns the household routine and appropriate behaviour with positive reinforcement training. She will learn quickly from a patient teacher.

Zeena’s ideal home would be a family who include her as much as possible in their everyday activities. Although she can be left alone, she would much prefer to go with you and has been a ‘take to work’ dog previously. She is an active breed so will need walking and interaction daily. Zeena would be happy as an only dog as long as she received enough attention. She doesn’t ask for much, just your companionship in return for all her heart.
