Gilbert is simply the sweetest little man. He is a senior citizen at 11 years old but you wouldn't know it with his spritely attitude and cute little face! His Pom-Chi good looks contribute to his youthful look. He is always smiling and his little ears will melt just about anyone's heart!
He has settled in so well with his foster family and he absolutely adores his fur-foster brother and sister.
Being a little more mature, he doesn't run around with infinite energy like other little dogs but he certainly does enjoy a daily trot around the backyard and loves getting out and about for short walkies.
Gilbert is an inside dog and loves having his own little bed to sleep in every day and night. He would be best suited with a retired person/couple or in a household where there is someone home a lot of the time. He just loves company and following his humans around or resting near to them.
Gilbert is toilet trained and very well behaved - although he does defend the house or his mumma if he needs to. He has a cute little way of communicating with his humans, you will know if he's accidentally locked in another room or outside or if he's just excited to see you! "Little Gilly" as his foster parents call him, is the perfect companion and deserves to live out his retirement with someone with as much love to give as he does. Gilly's foster parents would adopt him in an instant, if they could!

Completing this application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
Harvey Dog Training supports SHARI and has kindly offered to provide our adopted animals 30% off training/obedience classes. If you are keen to enrol your new puppy/dog please mention this in your email to us!
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption application must be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
2. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer. You must bring your dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption.
3. The animal must not be taken on the day unless prior arranged (travelling over a 2 hr round trip). If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment details will be given, this can take 2-3 days to finalize before the meet & greet so please give time.
4. 10 day trial period commences
5. Adoption is finalized after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email.
