About Clancy
Introducing this wonderful pup, Clancy. He is such a gorgeous, loveable and loyal boy. Clancy’s favourite thing in the world is attention from anyone and everyone he meets. He would make a wonderful family dog and although I do not believe it is a necessity for Clancy to work sheep in his new home, this may be a little fun activity he could get into. Otherwise a good, long walk/run and a game of fetch tires him out for a while.
Clancy is brilliant on and off the leash. During walks, he will stay close and follow along. He has a very strong recall and is currently learning some basic obedience, as well as key behavioural skills, such as patience.
Clancy currently lives with other dogs and has been introduced to people of all ages. He has behaved brilliantly with all of them, demonstrating his very gentle nature around young children and my foster puppies. He has been introduced to kids as young as newborns, and loves to cover them in kisses.
It would be terrific if Clancy had a new doggy friend in his new home, who matched his energy levels, in order to help keep him company while left alone. However, Clancy will benefit more-so from a lot of human company, such as being included in his new families everyday activities and outings.
Clancy will do anything for a cuddle, and thinks of himself as big a lap dog. Regardless, he is still active and will require structured, daily physical and mental activity in order to ensure boredom doesn’t cause him to be stubborn and/or destructive.
He will benefit from an owner familiar with dog behaviour and training, who understands the importance of being a strong leader, and is willing to help him overcome some basic behavioural issues he has. Ongoing socialisation and obedience training during the rest of his puppy stages will be extremely helpful in ensuring that he grows to become a well-rounded and balanced adult dog.
Since arriving in our care, Clancy has had a hard time being left alone. We continue to work on his separation anxiety and have gotten to the point where he is fine left outside/in a room, so long as another dog is present. Hopefully, he will soon be okay being left completely alone for short periods in case this ever needs to happen in the future. We are in the middle of crate training and teaching him the calming benefits of having a space all to himself, which is helping him greatly.
We have not had the opportunity to test Clancy with cats so a home without feline friends would be preferred
If you interested in knowing more about this handsome guy, we would love to hear from you!
Clancy is located in Ballarat.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
