About Balou
Meet Balou - he is a cattle crossed with a larger dog maybe a lab - so he has the cattle look but not really the personality!
He is an affectionate boy, used to being outside and easy to walk on a lead. He is a quiet boy - not one to rush around or be too playful - would suit an older dog as a companion or someone looking for an easy affectionate friend.
Sits on command and is well mannered and well behaved.
He has been rescued twice in his life - the first time: tied to a pole and starving, the second time: after his parents marriage broke up he was rehomed with his little foxy friend where they were left in the yard with little stimulation. He is still missing his little companion and is feeling quite sad.
Balou has been with kids of all sizes and is a nice dog as he doesn't jump up but loves a belly or head scratch.
He is shy around new dogs or strangers and needs a gentle slow introduction to get his confidence.
He hasn't lived with cats but he saw ours and looked a bit scared of it so I don't think he would have a problem integrating.
I would love to find a family to make this big fluffy boy smile again.
He has a thick fluffy cuddly coat - hence his name Balou the bear!
