About Zulu
This spectacular pup is just one of the nicest dogs you could meet. She was born in the Central Australian Community of Ali Curung, so she comes from dog dreaming country, and we think that makes her pretty special. At present she is in foster care with a family in Tennant Creek.
Currently weighing in at 30 kilos, she will grow a little taller and fill out too. Despite her size, we have found that, while she loves a walk, she only has a moderate exercise requirement, but that she does love a comfy dog bed or a couch, and really likes to relax and soak up the ambience of a family home. She is the archetypal couch potato really.
She has such a beautiful calm nature, is very gentle with the kids, and gets on really well with other dogs as well. She is lovely to walk on the lead, and off lead will come back when she's called. Zulu is very easy to teach and would really enjoy dog obedience we reckon - she could be a top notch obedience dog if someone took the time with her.
Zulu is a dog who really likes to be with her humans and gets lonely if left for long periods. She will make a great companion/ family dog for some lucky people.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adoptees locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Zulu's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide.
Medical notes
Zulu is fit and well with all vet work done and ready to go. She will be wormed and heartworm treated again just before leaving the Territory. We suggest that with all dogs from the Territory, they are wormed and heart-wormed 2 weeks after arrival and monthly for 2 more months, before going on a normal worming regime.
Adoption details
We request that prospective adopters email us with an initial enquiry. We will forward an application form. On receipt of the application form, we will make phone contact to discuss the adoption. We try hard to match the dog to the person, ultimately looking for the best fit for the dog. Shipping fees may or may not be included in the adoption fee, and this will be stated in the pet's profile.
