About Door Knob & Door Jamb
I'm trying a new home to see if i like it. We know that door knob is a strange sounding name for a dog however this little fellow looks so much like door knob in the great australian television series "packed to the rafters" that we couldn't resist giving him the same name. Door knob came from the pound leaving behind several other small dogs who were surrendered along with him. Paws had put our name on a couple of the other dogs to rescue if they were not adopted from the pound and did end up with another one who we have called door jamb just for a bit of fun! door knob became very withdrawn when he went into foster care and we were worried that he may have been coming down with something so rushed him back to animal tracks vet for observation. Door knob was refusing to eat and his head was hanging low. . . It was so sad. In the meantime, door jamb arrived at animal tracks from the pound to have his vet work done and the clinic commented to their rescuer how alike the two dogs were, almost identical in fact although door knob is the larger of the two. Denise told them that they were related and the penny dropped so they were put into the same cage at the vet clinic and door knob perked up immediately. All that was wrong was that he was fretting for door jamb who is obviously his "best friend". Door knob began eating again and as they cuddled up together it was decided that these two little munchkins will never be separated again. The lady who was going to foster door knob was happy to take both dogs into foster care and will look after them until they find a wonderful home together. Door knob and door jamb are quiet little dogs and are quite tiny. They are also terrified of cats so a home without felines is a must! door knob is the boss of the pair and door jamb accepts that quite happily because as long as they are together he doesn't care. Their carer said they are really like just one dog because they are so close! their tails never stop wagging and they are both very playful little dogs who love each other very much. A home without small children will be best for them, although gentle children over 8 years will be fine. Door knob and door jamb are house dogs and have coats that will require regular grooming. They are both doing very well with their house training and should have it down pat in no time at all. Update 21 september: door knob and door jamb have come a long way since first coming into rescue. Gone are the timid little munchkins who were even afraid of the cat (who is now one of their best friends!) door knob and door jamb now play with toys and have accepted the neighbour's 6 year old girl, happily spending time playing with her, something that they would not have done a month ago. they are not fussy with food, have put on weight and are very healthy little fellows. one thing has not changed though and that is the love they have for each other so door knob and door jamb must remain together, forever. Door knob and door jamb comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested and with nsw local council lifetime registration for $350 each.
