Boo 😻 our Animated Uncoordinated Kitten

Our Boo is a bit different. Remember that girl in class who never quite fit in? A bit slow, no good at sport, who didn't talk, and the target of every jock, bully and popular girl in school? That's our Boo.
Born the runt of the litter, in the harshest of circumstances, and lovingly hand raised, Boo has overcome early illness, learning and developmental issues to become the sweetest, quirkiest music loving kitty in town. So let's talk about her peculiarities...
At six months she is now able to jump onto a couch or low bed. The air of smug when she manages a kitchen chair is palpable. Yes, your pizza is entirely safe on the kitchen bench. It is not, however, safe on your lap.
Got food? Boo is infatuated with food. The merest hint that you're carrying and she's snuffling like a basset hound at a sausage fest. Warning: if you smell like food and taste like food, you are food. She will eat you. We feed her on a lean raw food diet to keep her from looking like a guinness barrel on legs.
Boo has her own language. For many months she was a mostly silent kitty with no communication skills. Time and patience have brought out a language of paw touches, chirps, rolling rumbles, and we have just had our first couple of small miaows. Disclaimer: when I said she was mostly silent? umm...when it sounds like there are two cats fighting to the death in the loungeroom she's probable chasing her tail...or a shadow...or a ghoul. Boo does nothing by halves and it can be belly achingly funny.
I mentioned before that her coordination ain't great and we're pretty sure that Boo needs glasses. She'll gallop across hard surfaces and leap small objects beautifully when she's not thinking, but then it all goes pear shaped. She'll sit on the edges of something and fall off backward, howling in fury. She'll stretch from couch to coffee table and fall into the gap. She runs into things full tilt; sometimes us. I know we're not supposed to laugh, but just you try to keep a straight face.
The litterbox. Boo is very particular on this point. One particular type, spotlessly clean, thank you, and there must be two trays. Neglect the litter at your peril.
Boo Hates: dirty litter trays, being beaten up by other cats (and they all beat her up) being outside, soft uneven surfaces, that unsafe moment between lap and floor, being ostracised (angry puddles) locked doors (scrabbling and petulant puddles) major change or holidays to other places (confused puddles) an empty food bowl (don't fill it!!!)
Boo Loves: Food, music, morning cuddles, food, watching tv with you, hidey holes, shadows, food, and people who respect her boundaries and personal space. Boo needs to feel loved and secure. She still sucks her thumb in the kittie way, and she is still learning to cat. She needs patience and understanding and human companionship but she gives everything. She is the sweetest quirkiest familiar you will ever find, she feels like a plush toy and she comes in the colour of 85% dark chocolate. What more could a human want?
