About Gray-Gray ~ Rotti x Kelpie (foster fail 27/7/2017)
Introducing Gray-Gray - a special needs Rottweiler X boy who is approximately 6 years old and who is eager to meet you. Gray-Gray is full of facial expressions and just like Melbourne he can show you 4 seasons in one day. From big smiles to shyness to melancholy to gazing into your eyes with love and adoration - this gentle soul will be sure to pull at your heartstrings. He is possibly a Rotti x Kelpie mix because he puts his ears up and shows you his happy-go-lucky Kelpie face - he’ll then let his ears go floppy and give you his doe-eyed Rotti smoocher face! You can’t help but fall in love with him.
Gray-Gray was recently released to us from a country pound. He is very underweight and wasn't well looked after prior to his arrival in the pound. He has some scarring on his nose and has tufts of hair missing (possibly from a flea allergy). Despite his rough start in life he loves people and wags his stumpy tail in joy when he realises that you want to be his friend.
Gray-Gray is currently in care at a boarding facility with about 100 other medium to large dogs. He has three new canine playmates that he runs around and plays with during the day. We feel that Gray-Gray may benefit from being in a single dog family as he is such a people-dog that he will thrive with his new family's focus being just on him. He will enjoy re-learning basic training with his family and would do well with advanced training too.
Gray-Gray loves playing ball and will even sort-of bring the ball back (sometimes!). He enjoys getting treats and is picking up quickly that being a good boy gets him praise and reward. He thinks he's a lapdog as he will crawl onto your lap for cuddles and give you a kiss. He would suit a couple with older, dog-experienced teenagers or an active, older couple who will give him a lot of attention and daily exercise.
Gray-Gray would love to have access to a well-fenced grassy yard where he can play ball with you. He will need to be allowed inside with his family when they are home and sleep inside on his own comfy bed. His new family will need to understand he’s had a rough start and will need a helping hand settling into the routine of family life. Also, due to him being so thin, he is looking for a very special family who will give him three home cooked meals a day (eg veggies, rice, sardines, tuna, egg, chicken, red meats) to get him back to a healthy body weight and to bring his dull coat and skin back to life.
If you have a special spot in your heart to help this very special boy then please contact Jo on email jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com or phone 0427 695 104 (after business hours). Gray-Gray is in foster care near Morisset, NSW (Central Coast).
Gray-Gray's adoption fee is $350 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
