Beautiful Ben is a sweet fellow who can find new situations overwhelming at first. He is a little on the shy and timid side when you first meet him but with time, patience and lots of love and gentle TLC Ben's beautiful personality soon shines through, and in time his courage will grow. Ben needs an experienced and patient owner who will give him lots of gentle TLC to help him come out of his shell, get used to his new environment and his new richer lifestyle.
We strongly recommend that Ben and his new family attend obedience training where he can learn to mix with other new dogs and people under controlled conditions, as well as, learning his basic manners to help him mature in to a well-adjusted family member.
Like many working dogs Ben has high energy levels, a very active mind and a strong level of independence which is not uncommon in his breed. As with all our dogs Ben will need a roomy yard with high secure fencing to help keep him safe. Heeler's are a herd guard breed who are known to be playful with familiar people, but suspicious of those they do not know. With his loving and affectionate disposition Ben is sure to become a very loyal family member.
