Diego is a big white marshmellow ball of smooshy goodness. He is a placid pup and doesn’t jump around or get super excited like most normal pups. He is pretty much toilet trained now with us only having 2 accidents (one of which was me not letting him out in time).
He is good with cats and other dogs (he is just timid so dogs who are chilled out would be suited better) and he is great with young kids.
Diego needs to go to his own home away from his security blanket, his brother.
He suffers quite bad separation anxiety so he will need to go somewhere with someone who is home quite a lot and who has another dog he can be friends with.
Even with his brother, if he is somewhere he can’t see people he will whine quite loudly so he needs someone who is understanding of his needs until he matures a bit and realises that he won’t be left alone forever if he can’t see you.
He knows how to sit and is doing quite well with the signal for come, but you usually don’t need to use it as he likes to sit beside you and follow you around everywhere.
He is very sweet and cuddly but it is time for him and his brother to become their own little pups.

Completing this application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
Harvey Dog Training supports SHARI and has kindly offered to provide our adopted animals 30% off training/obedience classes. If you are keen to enrol your new puppy/dog please mention this in your email to us!
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption application must be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
2. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer. You must bring your dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption.
3. The animal must not be taken on the day unless prior arranged (travelling over a 2 hr round trip). If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment details will be given, this can take 2-3 days to finalize before the meet & greet so please give time.
4. 10 day trial period commences
5. Adoption is finalized after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email.
