About Lincoln ~ red cattle dog (On Trial 15/3/17)
Word on the street is Orange is the New Black. Well you cannot get any cooler than this Ginja Ninja! Meet Lincoln. He is rather handsome, has the manners of well bred gent and just wants the love of a good human. Simples. Lincoln is approximately 5 years of age and he is a red cattle dog.
Lincoln’s life so far has been far from perfect, yet he holds no grudge. He is one of the happiest dogs I have ever met. He just loves being around people. Being a cattle dog, Lincoln is very bright and learns things very quickly. He sits, stays, walks well on a lead, but will definitely benefit from further training that will also help him gain confidence.
For a working breed, Lincoln is pretty laid back. He loves his daily exercise but is content basking in the sun at other times. He is not bothered by other dogs barking when he is on his walk, as his focus is enjoying the time with his human.
Lincoln loves his food which will also make it easier to train him. He is very much a blank canvas and whoever is lucky enough to adopt him, will have the most perfect dog with a little bit of effort.
Lincoln currently lives with 4 small dogs, another medium sized dog and a revolving door of foster dogs (at this point in time, there are 8 other dogs on our property). Whilst Lincoln is interested in meeting other dogs, he would be quite happy to be an only dog, or perhaps just one other confident dog to live with.
As with all dogs, Lincoln is happiest with his humans. He loves cuddles and pats and is a little bit of a sook. But gee, he’s an awesome time waster and it’s hard to say no. He is great with kids of all ages and would really flourish with a family where there is someone home often. Lincoln is a keeper and anyone who meets him will agree. He has a beautiful nature to go with his good looks.
Lincoln deserves the love of a good human and in return, you will get the love and loyalty of a gorgeous dog. If you feel you could provide Lincoln with a loving, permanent home, please contact Di on 0413 310 791 or via email at di_keenan@y7mail.com. Lincoln is in foster care in Port Stephens, NSW.
Lincoln’s adoption fee is $300. He is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
