About Belle ~ Dalmation x (on trial 23/03/17)
Belle is a 1 year old Dalmation X who loves to love and be loved. She is wonderful with children, and enjoys the company of other dogs, though is a bit choosy of female friends.
She knows basic commands (sit, shake, comes when called) and loves food, so she is easy to train with treats. She loves children and has grown up with a baby (who she loves to give kisses to) and now has a toddler friend. We are unsure if Belle is toilet trained, but she shows signs that she is able, and if not, she would be very easy to train.
Belle is a medium sized dog but is quite strong, so a capable person needs to take her for walks (not children or frail aged).
Belle has been raised with another dog (male boarder collie x golden retriever, also available for adoption), and will need either another dog friend or her family to keep her company most of the time indoors and out.
Though Belle is a medium sized dog, she has been known to jump fences for fun, so 6ft + fencing will be necessary to keep her safe if she is to be outside unsupervised for extended periods.
Her previous owners loved her and her “brother” dearly, but decided it was in their best interest to have a larger yard than the one they could provide. They had to move house, and the male did not cope well with the down sized yard. The owners felt it would be unfair to rehome one dog and not the other, and they would be very pleased if both dogs could be adopted together, but understand that that may not be possible.
Belle is super friendly with everyone she meets, and everyone loves her. Her current foster carer is tempted to adopt her, she’s just that lovely. She’ll be snatched up quick, so get your application form in quick if you think you can give her the best forever home.
For more information or to meet Belle, please contact her foster carer Sherona on 0434 572 609 or email spillidg3@gmail.com. Belle in foster care in Rathmines, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Belle’s adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
