About Apollo ~ 2yo Mastiff x Wolfhound on trial 31/7/17
Apollo is a playful, approximately 2 year old Mastiff x Wolfhound boy. He is the most lovable friendly dog I've ever come across. He just absolutely loves people and other dogs.
Apollo comes when called and is very submissive to people. I have not seen one ounce of aggression or any body language that would indicate he may be aggressive. I have taken him down to the river with our two dogs. He has not tried to dominate them in any way - all he wants to do is play. He has also met our cats and was fine with them. He was apparently surrendered to the pound initially due to chasing alpacas.
I help Gunnedah Veterinary Clinic who has a rescue/rehome program for dogs and cats from the pound. They have been able rehome all of their dogs in the past - however this boy has had no interest so far and I dare say it's due to his size and breed and his time is getting shorter and shorter as they cannot keep them for long periods. Some dogs here are renowned for being a little crazy and full on. However Apollo is the opposite – he is playful, friendly and loving.
Even though he is located in Gunnedah, I travel between here and the Gold Coast quite often. So if a home is found between there and here (anywhere in the New England/Warwick/mid-north NSW coast regions) I will be more than happy to deliver him. If we didn't already have 2 dogs in our yard, or if I owned my own house I'd love to keep him myself.
For more information about Apollo, please contact Nikki on 0428 888 921. Apollo is in care in Gunnedah, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Apollo's adoption fee is $300 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
