About Sasha ~ Maltese x terrier, (Trial 16/2/17)
Sasha is a 8yo, Maltese x terrier with a beautiful temperament. She is very sweet and affectionate and will happily sit on your lap all day. Her other greatest pleasure in life is going for a walk! She loves people of all ages including children. She doesn't bother the chickens in their pen or the cats that she has seen on walks. She is cute as can be and has lovely light brown eyes.
Sasha is living with 3 other small dogs and gets along well with all of them and enjoys playing with them. She runs around the yard like a youngster. She has a favourite little stuffed toy frog that she likes to toss around and play with. She will sit when asked and come when called and would respond well to further training.
Sasha is only middle aged for a small dog and could have another 5 to 8 years to enjoy in her forever home. She is in good health and recently had a dental cleaning. She was sadly surrendered by her elderly owner who had to go into palliative care. She must not have had many walks previously because she is a bit chubby. Her foster carer has Sasha on a diet and daily walk (which she loves) and she is slimming down.
Sasha loves her daily walk and gets very happy when her lead comes out. She trots along at a brisk pace and enjoys meeting new people. She travels well in the car. She is not a nuisance barker.
Sasha would love a home where there is someone who doesn't work full time, such as a stay-at-home parent, young retired person, or someone who works from home. She could be an only dog if she gets plenty of time with people but she would also be very happy to live with other dogs. She is fine with children but of course they need to understand to be gentle with her so children need to be 8 years or older.
Sasha has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful.
Sasha is an inside dog and is well housetrained and needs to be allowed inside and to be kept safely inside when no one is home. She is very good at night and likes to sleep in a person's bedroom.
We honestly can't find anything negative to say about Sasha. She is just a sweet, loving, well behaved little girl who will be a perfect companion. We look forward to finding her a home where she will receive attention, walks and love.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
