About Bailey
This little poppet has not had a great start to life. But with the help of her foster carer she is growing more confident every day.
Bailey is your typical kelpie pup, inquisitive, excitable and thinks it's all about her. She still shows signs of significant fear and then barks at the strangest things, the most recent was the ceiling fan which she must have thought was some big huge monster... with time, effort and treats she is learning that she is a strong girl who can overcome most things.
She sleeps in a crate, is toilet trained and gets on with other dogs, she looks at cats with interest and does bark at them if she feels the need.
Barking is her way of talking, if you listen and observe her body language you will be able to quickly move her past the need to talk. Growling at her just is not the option as it will simply undo all the amazing work done by her carers so far.
We are looking for that special someone prepared to continue her training and put in the time and effort a kelpie requires. You do not have to be a stay at home adopter, all our carers work. But you do need to be an experienced dog person.

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
1. You see a dog you like.
2. Fill in our online adoption form by clicking here or on our website. Be sure to include any questions you may have on our adoption form. This form does not obligate you to adopt, it simply gives us an idea of your situation and needs.

3. If your are successful, one of our volunteers will contact you to organise a meet and greet at your home and conduct a yard check at the same time.
4. Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. Adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
During the 2 week trial period, should you decide that this dog is not for you, you are welcome to return the dog (the more notice the better, to ensure we have a foster carer available) and your payment will be retunded to you in full, within 3 business days of the return of the dog.

We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
