About Nico ~ Kelpie x Ridgeback (Trial 8/3/17)
Say hello to Nico! Nico is a 14 week old Kelpie X Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy who is looking for his forever home.
Nico is great with other dogs once he gets his confidence up. He is currently living with a 3 year old Kelpie x Shepherd foster sister and they love to wrestle and play. He loves small balls, chewing any toy with a squeaker in it and stealing any toy his foster sister has. He loves to be near his owner and foster sister; loves to cuddle and would suit a family that is happy to have him inside at night and a part of the family.
Nico is great walking on lead and when off lead he follows his foster parents and sister around. He loves all people. Secure fencing with no large gaps is a must for this small boy who will soon grow into a medium sized dog. He can sit, he is learning stay, he responds well to his name and ‘come here’ and is getting used to the water at the beach but prefers to swim in still water.
Nico needs a lot of training, attention and affection. For any puppy, I would recommend regular visits to the off leash dog park, dog beach, a day care or puppy training school for socialization which is vital at such a young age.
As Nico is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to one of our vets for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Nico, please contact his foster carer Talia on 0438 343 438 or Nik 0408 654 868 or email talia.guise@hotmail.com. Talia is in foster care in Berkeley Vale, NSW (Central Coast) and is available for adoption interstate
Nico's adoption fee is only $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
