About Sam ~ Maltese x (On Trial 6/3/17)
Introducing Sam, a gentle quiet 5 to 6year old, male, Maltese X. Looking for company? That's Sam with a capital S: on the lounge, in your bed, hanging out the washing, Sam will be right there with you. He will even provide entertainment by racing round the yard and playing with his toys.
Looking for a pal to play fetch with? Well Sam's your man! He doesn't care how young or old you are so long as you can toss a ball to him.
Looking for a furry doorbell? Sam will let you know when visitors arrive, but he won't be a nuisance barker at other times.
Sam is housetrained and has no health issues. Heis an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. Sam understands basic commands and he would enjoy further training.
He is great with other dogs. He hasn't been tested with cats or pockets pets, but this boy is so calm, it's likely he would be fine.
Golden Boy Sam has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful. His beautiful silky coat had to clipped pretty close to remove the matting when he came into care, but it won't take long for it to grow back.
Sam has been on a difficult road, but those roads often lead to beautiful destinations. Can you see Sam's destination in your future ?
For more information or to meet Sam, please contact his foster carer Doreen on 0407 721 759 (preferred) or email anne4drn@gmail.com. Sam is in foster care in Singleton, NSW (Hunter Valley west of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Sam's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
