About Marcy
Love at first cuddle! Marcy
Hello, my name is Marcy! I am a 4.5 month old, mix breed pup and all I want is to find my forever family. I currently live with my foster parents, their 2 yr old son, and a doggy brother near Geelong, Vic. I was surrendered to the pound as a pup from an unwanted litter and am looking for a loving home.
My personality:
I am a cute, playful, smart puppy and I am already house trained as long as I have access to or get let outside. I know how to 'sit' on command, I am learning how to 'drop', 'stay' and 'roll over' among other tricks and manners. I can get a bit mouthy when playing with people but I will outgrow that as I get older, and my canine friend tells me off when I play too much so I am learning quickly how to play appropriately. I will chew anything but I can't destroy much as I am quite small but I prefer chew toys and treats to munch on anyway. My foster mum thinks I will grow to be a small/medium sized dog (roughly Beagle sized at the most) because I have quite big feet and long legs.
All in all I am a very sweet girl and I love human and animal companionship. I am good with kids but can be a bit much for very young kids who are already a bit scared of dogs as I just want to give everyone cuddles and kisses.
What I need & what you can expect:
My new owners will hopefully be willing to do puppy training with me either themselves or through a puppy school. I love to be with or near people in the same room and to give them cuddles and puppy kisses. Did I mention I love other dogs? A home with a canine companion or owners who can spend lots of time with me would be amazing.
I will bark if I am unsure of things or new friends but I am mostly just alert and ready to play. I don't bark often but am a good alert dog sometimes as I usually know when someone is at the door or looking a bit shady and I let my foster parents know by giving a bark or two. I am pretty confident on my own and submissive/playful and respectful with other dogs - I think I could handle living with cats too! I would enjoy having a home with kids that won't over-handle me as I like to have time to myself after a big play. I would love to sleep in my new owners bed or on their couch as I still ask my foster carers but they tell me I'm not allowed (to prevent bad habits), so I sleep on a futon with their dog indoors at night and nap there during the day sometimes. I will need my new owners to continue positive reinforcement on-lead training but I am responsive to voice commands and more responsive if you have yummy treats!
