About Max & Millie ~ Fox Terrier pair (on trial 5/04/17)
Introducing Max and Millie! - a happy, fun-loving bonded pair of Fox Terriers.
Max is 6 years old and a handsome little man weighing 5.5 kilos. He is quite a character and has a goofy personality. Max can be a little shy and cautious until he warms up to you but once you have gained his trust he is very affectionate and fun loving. Millie is 3 years old and a total sweet heart weighing just 3.5 kilos. Millie will greet you with enthusiasm and loves kisses and cuddles.
Max & Millie came into care after they were rescued from a pound by Dog Rescue Newcastle. They both came with skin issues and were underweight. They were also very fearful and it appeared that they had not received much socialization with people and other doggie friends. With some TLC their skin has healed nicely and they are now at a healthy weight however they still need reassurance when meeting new people. They are currently very content living with two other doggy friends and three adults. It has taken some time for both of them to trust their foster family and feel secure. Because of this I am looking for a special person/s who will continue to socialize them and provide a forever home where they can continue to feel safe, relaxed and loved.
During the day Max & Millie are at their happiest just following you around as you go about your day. They enjoy time being inside and out. Outside they love to be in the garden exploring, soaking up the sun and playing chase with each other. Inside they both like nothing more than to sit with you on the lounge and snooze. They enjoy car rides and walk great on a lead.
Max & Millie get along fabulously with their two senior foster doggy brothers. They will not be suitable for a home with cats or pocket pets as they will chase them.
Max & Millie cannot be separated and have to be adopted together. To thrive and continue to be happy, they need a forever home which provides a loving environment where they will be treated as a family member. They will need to be able to have access inside and to keep them safe they need very secure fencing with no small gaps. I believe that Max & Millie would be best suited to a mature aged person or couple who are looking for two loyal, loving doggy companions.
If you think you are a perfect match for Max and Millie or you would like further information, please contact Karen by emailing ksluyter@exemail.com.au or call 0419 229 201. Max and Millie are in foster care at Swansea, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle). They are not available for adoption interstate.
Max and Millie’s adoption fee is $650 for the pair of them and they are both desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
