About Jonty
Everyone loves Jonty. He makes friends with all people and dogs. He approaches others with care with the key driver to attain a cuddle which he always gets. People (and especially kids) love Jonty!! He came to us with very long hair which was matted severely so he had a short back and sides at the groomers. The groomer said she had to use a muzzle on him towards the end as he just wanted to keep kissing her. He is impossible not to love and is one little happy soul.
Age wise we're not sure. There is a good set of teeth on him and he's still playful. I would guess somewhere between 2 and 4. Breed, well everyone has a view, and a consistent theme is part sausage dog and could be mixed with schnauzer, Bichon, poodle etc… He’s toilet trained and walks well on the lead, and responds to his name being called very quickly. He sleeps in a confined area at night with one of them, and hangs out all day when we are at work with both of them outside with some inside shelter. He did take a little bit of work to settle in, as he initially whined at night when we put him to bed and still sometimes whines in the morning to be let into main part of house and into our bedroom. I think he may have some separation anxiety, and will need some training but he is eager to please and loves all food so shouldn’t be too hard, and he adjusted pretty quickly with us for most things.
He loves going for walks as just wants to be around people and seeing new things. He never strays far from your side. He just sits or sleeps beside you as you relax or do your chores. He loves to travel in the car but you need to pick him up to get him in, so thankfully he is very light (about 8kg).
He would be ideally suited to a family with a stay at home mom or dad, but anyone who has time to hang out with him would be good too. And especially if there is another dog. He enjoys chasing our 1 year heeler x terrier around the back garden and on our walks. He’s been an inside foster with access to outside during the day when we are at work) and will need to remain being inside, and being 100% part of the family.
Jonty would love to give you a kiss. Fill out the application at the link below to come and meet him at his foster home in Yarraville.
