About Spike
This big boned and confident male German Shepherd has come into care from a Sydney Animal Shelter through no fault of his own. If you prefer the larger framed and straight backed German Shepherd then this boy fits the bill.
His previous family had purchased him as an eight week old puppy and due to a family break up this gorgeous boy was surrendered to the Sydney shelter. Confused and very anxious he was taken into our care and placed in a foster home to regain his trust in humans and to learn some social skills.
Spike is now in care at Berowra and is a confident and strong minded dog who needs an experienced German Shepherd owner.
We can see he would NOT be suited to a young family with children under 14 years of age only due to his size and strength. He also prefers his own fur company at this stage so best as an only dog.
Spike is three years of age has been recently desexed and is strong on lead but can be managed if walked with a martingale collar. His carer adores him and he in turn has responded to the love and calm leadership this boy thrives on.
Attentive and voice responsive Spike knows his basic commands and is only issue is his lack of socialisation with other dogs. We are continuing to work with these issues with him and so he needs calm firm leadership and an owner who will continue with his training and socialisation.
For more detailed information on Spike please contact Linda.
Medical notes
Spike is desexed, vaccinated C5 is on heart worm prevention and has been wormed, flea treated and is on tick prevention.
