About Oscar
Handsome Oscar is a gorgeous little puppy born to a camp dog in Tennant Creek. He is brother to Charlie Girl and Misty. He was taken into our care after being looked after with her mum and siblings by a good Samaritan after her family left town. Her mum has since been de-sexed and adopted by that person. He is currently in foster care in Elliott.
Oscar is the largest in his litter, and more chunky in build than his sisters. He is a very athletic and confident little chap, and loves to go exploring in the bush with the big dogs.
He plays with all the dogs and puppies (male and female) - chasey, tug toys and wrestling are his favourite games. He also likes to amuse himself leaping up to catch butterflies and crickets.
Oscar has been living outside most his life so he is used to entertaining himself in the garden and loves exploring and getting around looking at things. He has been in a home setting inside and outside for a couple of weeks now, and caught on to house training very quickly. He has also been around lots of kids and adults, and is very relaxed and well behaved with people of all ages.
Oscar is a real bright spark and very teachable. He would be a great family dog for an active family, and also make a great mate for another dog.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adoptees locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Oscar's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide.
Medical notes
Oscaris fit and well with all vet work done and ready to go. He will be wormed and heartworm treated again just before leaving the Territory. We suggest that with all dogs from the Territory, they are wormed and heart-wormed 2 weeks after arrival and monthly for 2 more months, before going on a normal worming regime.
Adoption details
We request that prospective adopters email us with an initial enquiry. We will forward an application form. On receipt of the application form, we will make phone contact to discuss the adoption. We try hard to match the dog to the person, ultimately looking for the best fit for the dog. Shipping fees may or may not be included in the adoption fee, and this will be stated in the pet's profile.
