About Dante
Are you looking for a playful and energetic young German Shepherd dog then Dante could be your next fur friend. Dante has just turned two years of age and is a desexed male German Shepherd blend dog who is in foster care at Hornsby. When Dante came into our care we could see he had been through the mill he was very unsure and hesitant to greet new folk and with patience and understanding Dante began to trust people again you see he had been purchased as a puppy by a family who wanted a cute cuddly dog but then when he became bigger he was left outside as a yard dog and with busy lives he was never given quality time.
So as so often occurs Dante was surrendered to an animal shelter in Sydney and due to his shy nature people would walk past his pen and not see the potential in this young dog.
So we have taken this gentle boy into our care and he is blossoming under the excellent care of his foster carer. He now loves his tummy rubs, will sleep calmly beside you without fear of being hit and now enjoys playtime and his sand clam pool with toys floating so he can play bob the apple.
Dante needs a family who will understand he needs further dog socialisation he has not got a mean bone in his body, but is still unsure of meeting new dogs. He would be a wonderful friend for a female dog who needs the company of another dog.
Dante is also excellent with cats and is very respectful even letting them eat his food.
Dante has been attending the local dog training club and he knows his basic commands and is listening for his voice commands and is now fully house trained.
We would like to see this gentle dog go to a home with a family with older children or a couple who are prepared to make a commitment for this boy. We want a home where he will be loved and become a family member.
Dante is only a medium size shepherd weighing in at 24 kilos. He has a happy joy to life attitude and is now always smiling.
Dante is not a jumper and true to the breed will alert you to a visitor or car pulling into your driveway.

Medical notes
Dante is desexed, fully immunised, on heart worm prevention and will be groomed prior to going to his forever home.
