About Jack ~ Jack Russell (On Trial 7/2/17)
Hi, my name’s Jack and I’m a 2-and-a-half-year-old Jack Russell. I came to my foster carer’s four weeks ago and since then have made myself quite at home. I was an only dog at my old home but I have made a friend at my foster home called Billy. We have lots of fun playing together but I would be just as happy being the only pet in the family too. I love a rub on the tummy and sitting next to anyone that will have me on the lounge while they are watching TV.
True to the nature of my breed I am energetic, athletic, intelligent and fearless. I sleep outside during the night and enjoy being inside with the company of people during the day, however, I don’t mind being alone or spending some time outside. I enjoy trying to catch flies, I’m extremely curious and like to explore my surroundings.
I have proven to be a very good watch dog but if my new home is in a quiet street I doubt there will be much to bark at. My foster family don’t have any cats but I don’t think I would like them very much. I like humans of all sizes and would be suitable around children.
I love all sorts of food whether it is dry dog food or fresh pet mince with vegetables – I am easy to please but don’t give me too much because I don’t seem to know when to stop!
I really enjoy going for a walk and walk well on a lead. I am obedient and come when called but if you don’t keep an eye on me I will go exploring. I have tried to learn tricks but I just get a bit too excited when there is food around and end up just about jumping out of my skin. I am pretty clever though so anyone that wants to persevere will be rewarded.
I am a very friendly little guy and just love being around people. I am really excited to find my furever home soon so that I can get settled in and start loving my family. I have so much love to give and will be a very loyal companion to anyone.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
