About Charlie Girl
This gorgeous young pup has the most lovely temperament. We are convinced that she is just going to make a bomb-proof family pet.
She was born to a camp dog in Tennant Creek. She is from a litter of 3 and taken into our care after being looked with her mum and siblings by a good Samaritan, after her family left town. Her mum has since been de-sexed and adopted by that person. Sister Misty has been adopted, but Charlie and her brother Oscar are now looking for their forever homes. She is currently in foster care in Elliott.
Charlie is a sweet natured girl, very playful, confident and interested in everything. She plays nicely with the smaller puppies and the bigger dogs as well. She is a very intelligent little pup who learns quickly and is extremely eager to please.
Charlie has been living outside all her life so she is used to entertaining herself in the garden and loves exploring and getting around looking at things. But while she loves the garden, she also loves a cuddle and is very well behaved inside, so really needs to be an inside /outside dog. She and all of her siblings were very quick to become house-trained, and with a good routine, her new owner should have no problems in that respect.
She enjoys her off lead walks very much and just goes along in sight all the time and comes back when she is called. We have taught her to sit for a pat, and she does that so nicely.
She has been around lots of kids and adults, and is very relaxed with people and dogs. While she has not been exposed to cats we believe that with careful introduction she will be fine with dog-experienced cats.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity or adoptees locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Charlie's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide.
Medical notes
Charlie is fit and well with all vet work done and ready to go. She will be wormed and heartworm treated again just before leaving the Territory. We suggest that with all dogs from the Territory, they are wormed and heart-wormed 2 weeks after arrival and monthly for 2 more months, before going on a normal worming regime.
Adoption details
We request that prospective adopters email us with an initial enquiry. We will forward an application form. On receipt of the application form, we will make phone contact to discuss the adoption. We try hard to match the dog to the person, ultimately looking for the best fit for the dog. Shipping fees may or may not be included in the adoption fee, and this will be stated in the pet's profile.
