About Bonny ~ Maltese x Shih Tzu (Trial 24/1/17)
Bonny is a 2yo, Maltese x Shih Tzu that we just can't fault. She is well housetrained and very sweet and affectionate. She loves people of all ages including children and likes to give kisses. She pays no attention to chickens in their hutch and has only shown mild interest in the cats that she has seen on walks. She is tiny girl, only 3.2kgs.
Bonny is living with 4 other small dogs and gets along well with all of them and loves to play with them. She can also amuse herself by playing with her little toys and throwing them up in the air. She likes a game of tug too. She will sit when asked and come when called and would respond very well to further training.
Bonny loves her daily walk and gets very happy when her lead comes out. She walks beautifully on lead and enjoys meeting new people. She travels well in the car. She is not a nuisance barker.
Bonny would love a home where there is someone who doesn't work full time, such as a stay-at-home parent, young retired person, or someone who works from home. She could be an only dog if she gets plenty of time with people but she would also be very happy to live with other dogs. She is fine with children but of course they need to understand to be gentle with her so children need to by 7 years or older.
Bonny has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful.
Bonny is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside and to be kept safely inside when no one is home. She is very good at night and likes to sleep in a person's bedroom.
We honestly can't find anything negative to say about Bonny. She is just a sweet, loving, well behaved little girl who will be a perfect companion. We look forward to finding her a home where she will receive attention, walks and love.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
