Nellie

Nellie is just a little bit sweet!

Great with people of all ages, Nellie would make a fantastic family dog. She loves to be with her humans and is best suited to a home where someone is home more often than not. She loves being inside and following you around to see what you are up to. Snuggles and a tummy rub are a couple of her favorite things!

Still a puppy, Nellie would benefit from going to obedience training. As, she can be a little shy with strangers. While she warms quickly, with ongoing socialisation her confidence will improve and she should begin to overcome that behavior. She can get over excited and when puppy brain takes over she forgets her manners. She will be a typical puppy and jump and mouth trying to play. But, she is a predominantly calm girl. She knows to sit and walks well on lead. Responding to being told to stop or slow down. Again, obedience would help her. Teaching her a few more basic commands and proofing them around other dogs and people will have Nellie being a star canine citizen in no time!

A daily walk is a must, Nellie loves to get out and explore. She gets excited when her harness and lead come out. Don't leave them where she can see them, they will go missing!

Nellie is good with other dogs. She could potentially go to a home with a friendly male dog. Another dog is not necessary. However, having someone home more often than not IS A MUST. Nellie has shown no interest in cats or any of the other pocket pets living in her foster home. Cat must be dog savvy, correct introductions and time will be required. Please do not expect her to be best friends with your cat instantly.
