About Shelby
Shelby, 6 months old, Ridgeback x. She is a gorgeous girl who absolutely loves kids, gets along with other dogs and loves to play with toys, for Shelby there's nothing better than a good game of tug of war! Shelby is not a barker, she is vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, microchipped and desexed. She is very well behaved and would suit a home where she has kids and another big playful dog to make friends with. She is a little shy at first, especially with males as she has had a rough upbringing but once she gets to know you she’ll be your best friend forever! Shelby is very intelligent and needs someone who can keep her brain working through training and regular walking as she likes to think. She is fine in a small yard or large property, as long as she gets the exercise needed being a large breed. Her current foster mum believes that Shelby will settle into any family situation after she overcomes her initial nervousness that she displays due to her rough upbringing.
Adoption details
Fraser Coast Animal Rescue house all our dogs in care with foster carers in family homes. This allows the dogs to experience life in family situations with other dogs, cats, children, chooks and various other domestic animals. This gives us an opportunity to discover their traits and personalities, likes and dislikes, and which dogs would suit which family dinamics.
We offer a 14 day trial period for all potential adoptees so they can see if the dog they have chosen is a fit with their family situation. Their is a $50 refundable deposit paid on the commencement of the trial period, which comes off the balance of the adoption fee should you wish to formally adopt your chosen dog. If you decide that the dog doesn't fit with your family, the dog will be retured into foster care, and the full balance of the deposit is refunded to you with no fees or charges.
If you wish to arrange a meet and greet with one of our dogs in care, please call Dianne on 0400346347 or email dianne.north@hotmail.com
The committee and carers of Fraser Coast Animal Rescue are all volunteers, so please be patient with us if we dont answer your enquiries straight away.
