About Hank ~ 10mo Lab x boy (On Trial 5/2/17)
Hank is the most beautiful golden boy! He is ten months old and looks like a large Labrador - he is probably Lab x Great Dane or Bull Arab. People stop to pat and admire him as he is such a magnificent looking dog.
He is a sweet natured lump of love and if you want a companion who wants to be with you all day by your side then Hank is your boy! Hank loves the beach and although he is large, I found him easier to dry off than my Kelpies. He sits beautifully, comes when called (with a tasty treat), waits, will leave food and not snatch. Out and about he walks very well with a Halti and will play with any dog - he hasn’t got a mean bone in his body. Hank is toilet trained, loves the car and will give you many years of love and loyalty.
Hank needs a reasonable size yard with good fencing, with front yard separated from back. Giant breeds do not need acreage although that is a plus. A large block is just a large prison if a dog is left outside and not included in the family. At this time in his young life he does need good walks, but as he gets older (unlike working breeds) he will not need a huge amount of exercise. Once he has been out, he is happy to chill at your feet. He is coming back really well although he loves to bound up to people and dogs to say hi so we are working on distracting him and calling him back for a top treat.
Hank would love another large breed dog to play with but he really adores human company and must be an inside/outside dog. He is good with kids, but like all dogs, he should always be supervised with children. Hank is not good with cats. We will miss him, but look forward to him finding his own wonderful family.
For more information or to meet Hank, please contact Lorraine by emailing lollyb81@gmail.com. Hank is in foster care in Lemon Tree Passage, NSW (north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Hank's adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
